If you mess up the height will be wrong - hard to fix that. You are MUCH better off with a portable one for many reasons.
-They're much cheaper
-You can move to where ever you want
-It doesn't effect the desirability of your property
--It is and will remain 10 feet high
But don't fill it with sand (or water). Just put a couple of BIG rocks (or cement blocks) on the base and it will remain standing up even in strong winds.How much does an in-ground basketball hoop cost?
