I have shin splints now and they hurt even if I am sitting down at my computer. I am in the middle of the basketball season at my high school. I know I can't rest for a few days because I have many games coming up. I thought that if I were to buy knee high basketball socks they would help my shin splints. Hello,
Knee high socks will not help you prevent or reduce shin splints. Some players do where the shin braces and they have mixed results - for some people they help but for others do nothing. You can find them online for around $30.
If you have heaps of games coming up, you are going to have to rest them all the time in between. Go light even at team training sessions and work out if they are anterior or posterior shin splints - the latter is the harder of the 2 to treat.
When you are sitting at your computer you need to be icing them to reduce the damage. Before you do any activity you need to massage the surrounding muscles of the tibia where the problem is (don't worry - you will soon feel the spot). This will get some relief into the surrounding tissue you have over-used.
See if by doing this you can get through your games better and at least get some relief. I say get some relief because if you want to keep playing, it is unlikely they will go away altogether.

Is it ok for a youth basketball coach give the players a ride from home to practice, with parents consent?
I'm a woman and a recreational basketball coach for girls in 5th and 6th grade. One of the girls cannot make it to practice because the parent leaves work late and cannot make it in time. I offered the parent to give the girl a ride from home to the gym. The parent will pick her up there. Is this ethical? with parents consent yes, i coach a middle school boys team and parents ask us if we can give rides to and from practice daily, not a big deal, i didnt have a back ground check my first year, now im a employee of the school system and do but even before we gave rides with parental consent. my coaches often gave us rides to and from practice. if i were you i would just make a consent form and ask the parents to sign it and then no problem. its an incredible help to parents and players when their coaches of do this for them so they should be thankful they have a coach who would be willing to do it. the majority of players want to come to practice and the majoirty of parents work.

Is it possible that playing basketball while 35 weeks pregnant could have caused the pains I've been having?
I am 35 weeks pregnant today and the other day I played "around the world" basketball game and didn't think much of it...I started having sharp pains in my sides so I immediately stopped playing and rested with my feet up for the remainder of the day. Now I have been feeling extremely nauseated and vomitting. I wasn't sure if playing basketball caused this or if it is just the return of morning/all day sickness....I am also having sharp pains in my groin.Is it possible that playing basketball while 35 weeks pregnant could have caused the pains I've been having?

hey, i bought a jacket on closeout on bikebandit.com and its a size too small.. i sent an email asking for an exchange for the larger size of the jacket (which they still carry for the higher price). but i doubt that they will do anything to serve me from what i've read on the internet. and btw for that, im never buying from bike bandit again, they could have at least stated that they will not accept exchanges on closeout items on a page or two!!

How to lube Carb diaphram?
I have a stuck vacuum piston in my motorcycle's carb which is causing only one cylinder to run.
When I pulled apart the carb and cleaned it (yes I removed all rubber/plastic parts), I noticed this piston was stuck. I smeared what lube was left on it around and tried to coat it, but it didn't work.
What type of lube am I supposed to use on this?
Can I just remove the air intake and spray some WD40 and work it around without removing the carbs again?

The reason it could get siezed is because it may be dirty or have gunk built up in the carburator. Try running some Seafoam engine cleaner through the system. Seafoam might work better than WD40 because it will completly clean your carburator and engine. Run some through the intake and some in the fuel tank as well.

Where to find a couple parts for a 1992 Yamaha Seca 2..?
My boyfriend is looking for a windshield and a "rear cowl" or "rear deck plate" (or something to that effect :P ) for his 92 seca ii.

Rm 250 starting trouble?
okay one of my friends messed with my idle adjuster/choke on my 1995 rm250 and it wont start..
it doesnt even attempt to start i just kick and kick. i tried bump starting it ( rolling it dwn a hill and switch it into first gear and give it gas) and no good...it just boggs out.

Try bump starting it in 2nd gear - it is a lot easier to do. if this works just take it for a spin. you might find that once you have started it and took it for atleast a 15mile run it might be ok. try it without any choke!!
And Or
take the spark plug out - chances are it'll be wet from fuel if you've been trying to start it, give the plug a quick clean, a dip in clean petrol usually help. this will also give the fuel a chance to evaporate if its flooded.
A squirt of carb cleaner in the carb can also help it start in cases like this. its best to squirt directly into the carb but i'm sure just squirting it down the airbox would work. I've never used starter fluid myself!!!!
I dont think the idle adjuster adjusts that much to make it impossible to start so i would ignore this for now until you have a nice engine thats up to temp.
a bit of redex in your fuel will also work wonders at cleaning out the system afterwards.Rm 250 starting trouble?

Try changing the spark plug.
It probably got fouled from your friend messing with the adjustment.
Also the bottom end is probably flooded from trying to start with a fouled plug.
Remove the spark plug, put the trani in gear and push start it down the block - the excess fuel will get blown out of the spark plug hole.

1969-70 U7E Yamaha Scooter?
I have just been given a ex PMG (Postmaster General) Yamaha U7E Scooter.
Its in fairly good condition, its been in a shed for the last 25 or so years. I have located nearly everything that I need for the bike to start a restoration.
The one part I really, really, really need is a front mudguard/fender. Its the fibreglass one, and the bike is blue. Im not worried about colour, but would prefer a good condition one. If it needs to be shipped internationally, so be it. Im in NSW, Australia.

Its in fairly good condition, its been in a shed for the last 25 or so years. I have located nearly everything that I need for the bike to start a restoration.
The one part I really, really, really need is a front mudguard/fender. Its the fibreglass one, and the bike is blue. Im not worried about colour, but would prefer a good condition one. If it needs to be shipped internationally, so be it. Im in NSW, Australia.

Water pump problems on my dirt bike?

The sound is made in perfecting timing with the engine and you can hear the clicking sound even when the engine is pinned, loud, I'm also pretty sure that the engine will over heat, since the pump isn't spinning. Sprockt kits... Please Help!????
I noticed my rear sprocket is missing a few teeth (just got the bike so it wasn't me) and needs to be replaced. I want to put an acceleration kit on instead of stock sprockets. I don't know anything about gearing or how much better aluminum would be but if you would take a look at the link and tell me what the difference between them is and which one you would get I would surely appreicate it.
Any information you have about the number of sprocket teeth and gearing would be helpful too.

Vortex sprockets are made of horribly light aluminum and don't last long at all. They're really only good for racers. If you're riding on the street, go with gearedsteelproducts.com sprockets, they're made from stainless steel. You can find other steel sprockets out there but not stainless steel. I would say get a 530 stock front and a 45 tooth rear

On their site they only show a 520 option but that's not right, email or call them and they can get you a 530 set. They can get you a chain to but you'd be better off getting that on ebay, just get a 120link 530pitch EK X-ring chain

your sprocket loose teeth due to the constant friction and lack of lubrication.. you may replace it with the original replacement or even an enhancement sprocket.. if you want your bike to be exceptionally ahead from the other's, you may upgrade your kit..the less teeth the sprocket has, the faster the time it turns..
I second what mick says. Buy a steel sprocket. It will last much longer than an aluminum one. It is a bit heavier, but you won't notice the difference unless you are Valentino Rossi.Sprockt kits... Please Help!????
If you reduce the number of teeth on the drive sprocket(small one, engine side), your acceleration will be stronger and your top speed will be lower. If you go larger, your acceleration will be lower and your top speed would be higher.
I would go stock on the rear wheel since they're more expensive to replace(and more time consuming), and buy a couple of different ones for the front with the money you save. That way you can try a couple of different ones easily, and switch them around much more cheaply.

If I understand what your asking then its the coupler that goes inbetween the starter and the inner primary and the second goes inside the inner primary.
the first coupler the long side goes toward the primary and the second goes long side toward the starter.
the first coupler should fit flush against the starter and on the second coupler the jackshaft should fit flush against the inner primary when pushed in against the spring.
remember to torque the jackshaft 60~80 inch pounds only or it will bind up when you hit the start button.Harley starter assembly help ?

What is the alternative to a 110/90-16 REAR motorcycle tire?
I've been searching and searching and can't find anything that matches a rear tire for my inherited 1982 Honda Custom CM250C. It is listed as 110/90-16 or 110/90S16 - which would be like a 4.25" tire or MP85. Of the few tires I can find on bikebandit and other sites, they all say "front" tire. I just really want a generic cheap tire to get this "learner" bike going. I did find the matching sized tubes, just not the tires. The FRONT tire is a 3.25S18 4PR (translates to about a 100/90-18, which I can find).What is the alternative to a 110/90-16 REAR motorcycle tire?
JC WHITNEY claims 3 different models of tires especially chosen for your motorcycle, and indeed I think they chose a fatter tire for the rear. It's a slender reed, but I think I'd go with it and the Kenda tires.

I, god of internet searching, and cyber guru, am having an immensely hard time finding a vendor online for a 92 Seca II (AKA Xj600s) Speedometer cable. How to fix or bypass a broken barb (on carb bowl) on a 2002 Suzuki DRZ400?
I am not sure of the model but it had knobby tires, not the motard model. It is a brass piece sticking up out of the bowl with a barb coming off of it for a hose. It is the part that the rod goes through to pump more fuel as you twist the throttle. Has a little rubber boot on the top of it to seal it off. I searched bikebandit for the part with no luck and ebay for a cheap bowl with no luck. Is there any simple block off fix or a way to replace? You can look you carb up on the Mikuni web site and probably get a new float bowl there.Other than that you need a complete carb.Without the accelerator pump working your bike will bog so bad you'll be embarrassed to rid it.

I bought A manual for my YZ125j serial numbers don't match?
When i looked in my manual for serial numbers most all the serial numbers ended with 000101 and my bikes ended with 789. the first parts matched up right it was 5x4 000 but instead of 101 its 789 I've looked for parts on bikebandit.com and parts match up and the frame looks the same but the serial numbers don't match up some retard said that on the frame's serial the last two digits are the year and that is completely wrong i hope there are some smart people on yahoo.I bought A manual for my YZ125j serial numbers don't match?

I need help finding out thread size on bolt?
I have a 1994 Yamaha YZ 125 dirtbike, and the threads are stripped out on the crank where there flywheel goes. The nut that holds the flywheel back on the crankshaft has really messed up threads. I want to use a tap and die set to restore the threads, but I don't have a kit, so I will buy one die to fix it. I need to know what size it is though. Should be the same for all YZ 125's according to bikebandit.com

Where can I find 85 Shadow VT700C clutch and brake master cylinder rebuild kits?
I need to replace the seals in my clutch and brake master cylinders. They were worn and the lines were full of rust and crap. I rebuilt the whole bike and this is all that's left. Apparently the cleaner that I used must have destroyed what was left of the seals. Oops.
Honda wants $50 for the rebuild kits for each side. Ouch. My local dealer said there are Suzuki fit aftermarket kits that will work, but after 20 minutes waiting on hold he never came back with the part numbers or availability. It's a 45 minute drive and I'd like to not waste it if I can call with the actual part numbers. And then I can call the two other possible dealers as well.
So where do you find this kind of thing? How do you find cross-brand compatibility charts? If I even knew which aftermarket companies make the kits I could start with their sites, but I can't find them at BikeBandit or google searching.

Can stripped/damaged threads cause an oil leak?
i have a 1980 honda xl125s. the leak is coming from the bolt securing the left crankcase cover. when i first took it apart i noticed the threads on both the bolt and the cover were visibly damaged. i replace the o-ring that goes around the bolt and the bolt itself but the leak remains. could the damaged threads on the crankcase cover be causing the leak?

How do I remove the jets on my 1980 Suzuki GS450?
The manual says to unscrew them, as I usually would but when I took the carbs apart there was screw driver slot and the jets look different then the schematic.
How do I remove these and put in different ones?

The 2nd picture, it looks like a piece of the carburetor is broken off.
The right of the center - is the carb polished smooth? or does it look rough like something was there?
The float bowl gasket covers that center area (looks like an upsidedown Y).
There should be a part that covers the gasket - the jets would screw into that part.

The 2nd picture, it looks like a piece of the carburetor is broken off.
The right of the center - is the carb polished smooth? or does it look rough like something was there?
The float bowl gasket covers that center area (looks like an upsidedown Y).
There should be a part that covers the gasket - the jets would screw into that part.
Yamaha Enduro HELP! (won't keep running and where to get parts)?
So I just picked up a 1982 175 yamaha enduro but it will just not stay running. YES we have completely cleaned the carb and checked the spark plug and it will start and if you keep on the gas it will stay running a little longer. Any ideas and where oh where can I get parts for it? I've been scouring the web with no luck and yes I have looked on bikebandit.com. Does anyone have any SPECIFIC links to parts for this bike? Have you checked spark? Ride until the bike dies, then check for spark. If you've got spark, then it's probably not an electrical problem. If there's no spark, then it's most likely the CDI unit.

In most cases, a worn cylinder or piston will make the engine have a pronounced rattle when you first start the bike, and the rattle will get quieter as the bike warms up.

Motorcycle master link?
i bought a KMC Motorcycle Chain ISO-9001 Certified off of someone on ebay. im haveing problems contacting the guy. but the chain did not come with a master link. i was told by someone on bikebandit.com that i needed a rivited master link but they dont carry any for KMC chains. can anyone help me find out where i could buy a master link for my chain. its a 530 108link o-ring chain. could i just buy any old 530 oring master link for my bike. 1995 yzf6r doing repairs myself to save on cost.Motorcycle master link?

Is there anyway to stretch a textile jacket?
hey, i bought a jacket on closeout on bikebandit.com and its a size too small.. i sent an email asking for an exchange for the larger size of the jacket (which they still carry for the higher price). but i doubt that they will do anything to serve me from what i've read on the internet. and btw for that, im never buying from bike bandit again, they could have at least stated that they will not accept exchanges on closeout items on a page or two!!

'03 CBR 600 F4i Radiator?
Is there an online store where I can find one for less than $300? Trying to replace a leaking radiator. Bikebandit has the OEM one for ~$500, ebay, if they have used ones tends to price around $130 to $180. Is there any online store I can go to to find a radiator at a decent price? I'd like a used one for less than $200, but if I find an aftermarket/stronger/performance type, I might go up to 3 or $400.

I need brakes for a 1978 Honda cb750f?
I have a 1978 honda cb750f. It just needs a front brake rebuild kit which I already found but it needs a whole new rear brake caliper with components. I've looked at sights like bikebandit.com where it breaks down everything and all of it adds up to $300+. Where can I buy all the stuff together for under $200. How to lube Carb diaphram?
I have a stuck vacuum piston in my motorcycle's carb which is causing only one cylinder to run.
When I pulled apart the carb and cleaned it (yes I removed all rubber/plastic parts), I noticed this piston was stuck. I smeared what lube was left on it around and tried to coat it, but it didn't work.
What type of lube am I supposed to use on this?
Can I just remove the air intake and spray some WD40 or spray lube down onto the piston and work it around without removing the carbs again?

Sorry to say but you are going to have to pull the carby off again. The slide is stuck due to fuel residue inside the cylinder and no amount of lubricant will remove it.
You have to get some very fine wet and dry emery (800 to 1200 grade and dont use water)) and clean the cylinder wall and the outside of the piston. After that, you can also rub the piston with a pencil (the graphite in the lead is an excellent dry lubricant). You may as well do both carbs while you are at it.
Be VERY careful when touching the diaphram attached to the carb slide. They are very thin and the tiniest hole will stop the slide moving correctly.

A freind of mine has a 94 trx 300r an got the starter done up and drove for about 200 meters now wont drive?

What to do after highschool with basketball?
Okay so, my goal is to get into the NBA, I don't need people to come in here saying im not going to make it, I don't want your opinion whether I have a chance or not. But I live in Canada, where do I go with basketball after high school? The NBA is not noticing me definitely. Any league I can join after to get recognized? Should I join a university and play ball there, then get a transfer to a powerhouse bball college in the states?

I coach HS B-Ball here in the states. Here is my advice:
Be honest with yourself about how good you are. If you are not being recruited by powerhouse D-1 schools, there is probably a reason. They sometimes overlook talent, but not usually.
That said, just because you're not being looked at now doesn't mean its not possible. Go to a smaller (NAIA) university or to a community college to play ball for the next two years. If you're not being noticed by even these schools, you may have to try to walk on and pay your own way. After that, you can decide if you want to tranfer or stay at your school (only if its NAIA, not CC). My brother is playing football at a small university. He's not going to the NFL, and not playing on TV, but he's still having a great time.
You probably need to be a 1st or 2nd team all league performer in an average conference to have a shot.
After college, or if you don't play in college, you have other opportunities to stay in the game. Obviously, there are rec and city league, but also look into coaching.
At this point, looking into small colleges sounds like your best bet.
Besides attending college, there is the NBDL (National Basketball Developmental League) which is directly under the NBA. You can also play overseas or look into the ABA (American Basketball Association).
I would say college athletics first as you will be able to test your skills and abilities there first and see how you match up. Not to mention, you'll be getting an education in the process. Good luck!What to do after highschool with basketball?

Hopefully you are a blue chip player with scholarship offers to some great division! schools. It s best to start there. You should play at a high level in a D1 school. If you have been playing AAU ball while in high school or before. I'm sure there are some scouts that have been keeping up with you. After tearing up the league in college you need to hire an agent after you decide to turn pro. But you should try to gauge where you are going to go in the draft before hiring the agent. You might want to wait another year if you aren't going to be a lottery pick. But if you are expected to go early in the 1st round I'd say hire that agent.
If you can't get into a major college you can always try to play overseas. If you have a great enough year. Someone will notice and then you can tryout for a team.
Remember it is not easy making it to the NBA. They have very few opening every year. There are many more players wanting the same thing you do than there is a need. If it were easy we all would be there and the salary wouldn't be the same.

My bf is is the pros and he played bbl for three years in college then went pro---but he had to prove himself in the tryouts and he did. The first thing u need to work on is your shooting, then ur footwork, etc,--sounds like u have a great attitude and that always helps. The NBA hates a know-it-all--they have plenty of them as it is. You could either write or call the teams to see when they will be trying out since the draft isn't that far away now that the ncaa is over. If u write them make sure they get it so send it where they have to sign it. u can also call them--just google which teams you r interested in and get their no. and give them a call--they love someone who shows interest in their league. then practice and practice and pratice--and b sure and follow thru with yur shots with eye contact. u don't really have to have an agent byt sometimes it helps--i will take u for free if you need me too. just leave me a message and i will get back with you. If u choose to go to collegeherein the states and aren't getting looked at then write or call the schools u r interested in--players that commit verbally do't mean a thing and someone always changes their ond at the last minute or they didn't make the grades. if nothing else offer to b a walk on-that shows motivation. good luck--i'll b thinking bout u--let me kn owhow it goes, ok?????

I know that you burn fat and build muscle at the same time, but I was wondering if any basketball players, or anyone in general knows if you get anything from working out right after playing some full court basketball. You should do weight lifting before cardio. I can tell you that. After 1 hour of cardio you need to rest and let your body heal. Do not over do it. I would lift weights before basketball and then play basketball. Make sure and alternate weights out everyday so you give your muscles time to heal ( you may already know that). I love to play basketball... and I am a very good basketball player... But when I start playing in a real game with other players that are really good I get nervous... but when I play with players that are good but not all-stars I kill and no one can stop me... My approach is to let the game come to me. I don't try and over do it just be who I know I'm capable of without forcing the issue. If you get an open shot take it, if you can create space with a crossover or dribble/pump fake do that. Go for steals, blocks, set picks whatever play your game like you are going to own em' and when you do let them know it.

What would it take for me to get a scholarship to the Duke Blue Devils Basketball team?
I am in 9th grade and it has always been my dream to go to Duke on a scholarship to the basketball team. I want to know what I am going to need to do to possibly get a scholarship that school in basketball...what I may have to average in high school, what I might need to do recruiting...etc

You not only have to be an amazing bball talent, but solid in the classroom and in life as well...
make the all-county team. and state team. get invited to the mcdonalds all american game. get ur coach to talk to duke scouts. GOOD LUCK!
You can be one of those spirit squad cheerleaders if you want on the court. Other then that you better be like 6'10" or have a 40 inch vertical a sweet j and skills.
Duke is an academic institution first and a basketball school second. You absolutely NEED good grades to go there. Also, you'll also need good fundamental basketball skills. But you absolutely must have the grades or Coach K won't even check out your game.
I'm not sure what it is now, it took me 23 points, 6 boards, 2 assists to get to play D1, but now it is probably higher. Many D1 schools, especially big ones like Duke, only take you if you are all-state or all american, but some smaller D1 schools take all city players.

What is a good way to stop a dominant post in youth basketball?
Im coaching 5th grade basketball and the team Im playing has a kid that is much bigger than my team and simply can raise his hands up to get rebounds without jumping and put the ball right back up until he makes it even if my team boxes him out. Wear him down with a rotating man to man.
Dirty tactics are your only option for a giant. Your first move should be to front the big guy with your tallest player, no matter his skill level. Tell him to stay in front with his hands up and deflect the ball as its coming in to the post; he doesn't actually have to intercept it. 2nd, put your beefiest kid on his rear side and every time he tries to move side 2 side, front to back to get the ball, have beefy cut him off with elbows and hips. Basically rough him up down low. 3. The hack a shaq routine. If he gets the ball, foul him hard and make him earn it from the line. It's what teams used to do to Shaq, and he is further away from the rim when he bricks his FT's. 4. Run a stall offense, lots of passing around the perimeter, low # of low risk shots. The less the giant has the ball, the lower the score.
If none of this pans out for you, dirty is the way to go. Step on his feet when he goes for rebounds, when he gets one grab his shorts and pull down just enuf to fluster him. Throw "legal" elbows, maybe a finger to the eye, talk trash. The key is to take him out of the game, physically or mentally.

You have come to the right place my friend, judging by what info you have gave the post player is probably the leading scorer on the team all i can say is before you guys play tell your team whenever they see the other teams shot fly yell shot! and send one of your guards as well as the one of the post to box him out deny him the ball and if he gets it send a double immediately
or like eric-o said fall back in 2-3 and force them to shoot but i say just always have two guys in his ***

My school's basketball tryouts are in a week and I want to know how to get better. All year I have been shooting alot and dribbling alot to get better. Work on your offhand (non dominate hand) shooting and dribbling.
Players that can drive both ways to the basket really well are very useful
to the team. If you have someone to help you practice a catch and shoot
drill over and over again to improve your reflexes and shooting skills.
If you consider your self very fast or practice running at least a mile everyday
you could go for point guard or guard. Or even if you're not that tall, if you work
on your vertical jump you could grab rebounds easily and try for forward or center.
Though there's not much you could improve on a lot during just a week if you
work on some offhand dribbling and shooting you could have a good shot at
making the team.

Work on your offhand (non dominate hand) shooting and dribbling.
Players that can drive both ways to the basket really well are very useful
to the team. If you have someone to help you practice a catch and shoot
drill over and over again to improve your reflexes and shooting skills.
If you consider your self very fast or practice running at least a mile everyday
you could go for point guard or guard. Or even if you're not that tall, if you work
on your vertical jump you could grab rebounds easily and try for forward or center.
Though there's not much you could improve on a lot during just a week if you
work on some offhand dribbling and shooting you could have a good shot at
making the team.

Im coaching 5th grade basketball and the team Im playing has a kid that is much bigger than my team and simply can raise his hands up to get rebounds without jumping and put the ball right back up until he makes it even if my team boxes him out. Dirty tactics are your only option for a giant. Your first move should be to front the big guy with your tallest player, no matter his skill level. Tell him to stay in front with his hands up and deflect the ball as its coming in to the post; he doesn't actually have to intercept it. 2nd, put your beefiest kid on his rear side and every time he tries to move side 2 side, front to back to get the ball, have beefy cut him off with elbows and hips. Basically rough him up down low. 3. The hack a shaq routine. If he gets the ball, foul him hard and make him earn it from the line. It's what teams used to do to Shaq, and he is further away from the rim when he bricks his FT's. 4. Run a stall offense, lots of passing around the perimeter, low # of low risk shots. The less the giant has the ball, the lower the score.
If none of this pans out for you, dirty is the way to go. Step on his feet when he goes for rebounds, when he gets one grab his shorts and pull down just enuf to fluster him. Throw "legal" elbows, maybe a finger to the eye, talk trash. The key is to take him out of the game, physically or mentally.

You have come to the right place my friend, judging by what info you have gave the post player is probably the leading scorer on the team all i can say is before you guys play tell your team whenever they see the other teams shot fly yell shot! and send one of your guards as well as the one of the post to box him out deny him the ball and if he gets it send a double immediately
or like eric-o said fall back in 2-3 and force them to shoot but i say just always have two guys in his ***

Make him get his points shooting free throws instead of by getting lay-ups early. Most 5th graders can't shoot free throws well, especially the bigger kids because they don't usually get put in a position to shoot the ball from anywhere outside of 2 feet from the basket. You just have to practice alot on your driveway or at your school or somewhere that there is a basketball hoop and like practice every day for about 1 hour. And just practice dribbling, shooting, lay ups, free throws, and different moves. With shooting, pick some spots that you would like to try out and shoot there until you make quite a few of them and everything just practice them alot because the more the practice the better you are. For shooting you can start with form shooting then work on ft's and shooting off the catch. If you dont have someone to help you out spin the ball out and chase it. You should also work on shooting off the dribble especially work on a front stop which is stoping on 1 foot instead of a jump stop. Some shooting tips are keep the ball on the pads of your fingers, release the ball in one rythm, dont have a pause in your shot. and extend your elbow up when you shoot for arch.
For finishing you can do mikan drill you can work on post moves, right hand and left hand layups etc. Remember to extend fully on layups, and high off the glass
For ball handling: the best things you can do are pounds, low speed dribbles push pulls crossover between the legs behind the back etc. search these on youtube and there will be demonstrations.
Once you have improved your skills play in pickup games and try to join a team.
For working out you should do upper body and vertical/ quickness

Yah u see I practice basketball everyday in my backyard(just a half court)
by myself for like 3-4 hours does this get me a chance for the nba?
I only get to play basketball with people on wednesdays only cause thats

Im trying to write a letter to a couple college basketball coaches saying im interested in there college but I want it to look professional and efficient. PLEASE HELP!
