I own a Motorola T7400 "talkabout" walkie-talkie, and i need to know how i can change my frequency!?

The whole point of those type of Walkie Talkie, is to keep YOUR conversation private.. even if you do share the same frequency. (The channel is the frequency, the Code is the sub-channel)

The idea is, there are lots of code pairings, and many can be used without issue
and you set yours to the identical settings of any extra handset.

If you want a good old fashioned CB "open" walkie talkie or CB set, then you need to get exactly that.. OR

if you want to study and take the tests, a Amateur Radio Licence and call sign, and then a HAM radio set (others wont talk to you on that unless you are also licenced..)I own a Motorola T7400 "talkabout" walkie-talkie, and i need to know how i can change my frequency!?
It doesn't work that way. It is programmed for the FRS/GMRS frequency.

If you need to communicate on other frequencies, you first need to be entitled to them, then have a Motorola dealer program the rado for those frequencies.

Those other frequencies are probably licensed for public service angencies or commercial users, in which case they probably do not want chit-chatters.

If you want meet and talk to anyone on the radio, you have the wrong sort of rado altogether. You should look into an Amateur Radio license, so you can communicate on their bands and equipment, and where you can genuinely meet people and chat over radio.

  • Can police list in on walkie talkie conversations?

and how likely would it be for them to just happen to over hear a conversation? Can police list in on walkie talkie conversations?
It is extremely unlikely for a police officer to monitor walkie talkie channels (that is if they're GMRS/FRS radios). If you are using CB radios, the likelihood is much greater since that is what many speeding truckers use. For the most part, GMRS channels are widely unused and very light on traffic, thus it would be a waste of time to monitor them. I would estimate that the likelihood of an officer listening in on a conversation is about .000001%, if not less. However, if an individual is being targeted and is known to be using a walkie talkie, they most certainly would use one to see what they can hear. Many drug smugglers use handheld radios since they can't be tracked (as cell phones can), and they are useful in passing information over a radius of 5 mi.Can police list in on walkie talkie conversations?
Anyone with a scanner can hear those conversations.

They are not encoded or encrypted, so expect that nothing you say there will be private. Can police list in on walkie talkie conversations?
A walkie talkie conversation is an unclassified transmission, so it wouldn't be too hard for the police or anyone else for that matter

  • Can i turn on my TV with a walkie talkie?

It sounds like a stupid question, but is it possible to say make a mechanism that juts out when given an electronic impulse, perhaps from a walkie talkie or similiar device (to push in my TV on button) and then retract, to be able to repeat when I want to turn it off? Yes I have a TV remote, I just thought it would be an interesting concept, Thanks, MikeCan i turn on my TV with a walkie talkie?
solder the two speaker wires to the power switch wires on your tv, when you talk, it turns on, when you talk again, it turns off.Can i turn on my TV with a walkie talkie?
It can and has been done. The first TVs with remote controls had electromechanical mechanisms to do just that. Can i turn on my TV with a walkie talkie?
You can not TURN ON a Machine. Human Beings get TURNED ON.

Machines are SWITCHED ON and OFF. :)
you must have a lot of time on your hands.

Walkie talkie watches never work well. Anyway, Audiovox also was in the market 3 years ago. Xax and Bellsouth but they should have been discontinued too.
