My school's basketball tryouts are in a week and I want to know how to get better. All year I have been shooting alot and dribbling alot to get better. I want to know what position I should go far and how to impress the coaches and how to get better. I am 5-6 and weigh 135 pounds, I also play good defense, and I am probably in the middle of my grade in terms of height. My right hand could be alot better in dribbling.
So what should I do?How to prepare for 7th grade basketball tryouts?
You should start to run a lot that will help you a lotHow to prepare for 7th grade basketball tryouts?
Hey Jayron Hill,
Work on your offhand (non dominate hand) shooting and dribbling.
Players that can drive both ways to the basket really well are very useful
to the team. If you have someone to help you practice a catch and shoot
drill over and over again to improve your reflexes and shooting skills.
If you consider your self very fast or practice running at least a mile everyday
you could go for point guard or guard. Or even if you're not that tall, if you work
on your vertical jump you could grab rebounds easily and try for forward or center.
Though there's not much you could improve on a lot during just a week if you
work on some offhand dribbling and shooting you could have a good shot at
making the team.
Good luck man!

Play a lot of games. You can only get better if you play a lot of games. There's nothing like it when you really use your skills inside the basketball court. In addition, endurance is important in basketball. Try jogging in your community to increase your endurance. A coach will be impressed with players who doesn't seem to get tired running after loose balls and playing defense. Try to increase your vertical jump as well. Here's a guide that I bought for my little bro improved his overall game. Check it here. I know you will be amazed by this. http://bit.ly/increaseverticaljump
Enhance your defensive ability, and to increase your attack strength
