How do I remove the jets on my 1980 Suzuki GS450?

The manual says to unscrew them, as I usually would but when I took the carbs apart there was screw driver slot and the jets look different then the schematic.

How do I remove these and put in different ones?

The 2nd picture, it looks like a piece of the carburetor is broken off.

The right of the center - is the carb polished smooth? or does it look rough like something was there?

The float bowl gasket covers that center area (looks like an upsidedown Y).

There should be a part that covers the gasket - the jets would screw into that part.
