Converse for todays players---No---I would pick Nike or Reebok, better suited. These shoe company's claim different things, but to me its just really how comfortable you break into your basketball shoes!! I like Nike's for the comfort!!
Another good question comes to, are you comfortable in mid or low shoes?: Meaning do you like shoes that come up to your ankle or passed (up)! when playing basketball of course
Thank u.

converse r not well sprung so noAre Converse the best type of shoe to play basketball in?
shoes like converse triple duece is a good shoe for support. and the d. wade converses are raw. but i would usually wear jordans, air force 1's or 25's
Nike's definitely better.
I have Converses - they're more like casual shoes than sportswear.
get a pair of T-Mac 6's they are on sale at foot locker and they rock
Would i wear converse in a game? No, for me there way to uncomfortable to be running around in. Really it's your choice, if you think converse are better for you and they feel better then go ahead and wear them. I would also try some other shoes out first. Well back then when they played basketball is different from now, technolgy has advanced and someone apperently realized that maybe converse aren't the best for playing in.
adidas brotherhoods are the best, they are sooo light.
One of the best shoes to play basketball in are nike air jordan 22 they cost about 300 dollars to buy and they have the maximum cushioning you can get with out loosing the stability due to the titanium heel counter.
