Basketball, like every other sport is about how much confidence you have. You can workout 3 hours a day and still miss that final shot or wide open layup. First, your going to have to build your mental toughness and awareness. Study the greats, such as Magic Johnson or Wilt Chamberlain depending on your position. To answer your question, you have a positive view on basketball. Fundamentals are the most important skill set anyone can have playing sports. To master fundamentals, you have to simply apply game-like situations in your practice drills. Warm up with about 50 left/right layups at full speed. Then for ball handling dribble however you feel is proper and comfortable with your skill set. Originality is vital in basketball. Next, shoot jumpers with consistent form and remember to point your elbows to the center of the rim. For rebounding, shoot the ball then quickly go after the ball and palm strongly with two hands and hold it in the air while swinging your arms. It might sound corny, but it really helped me before my varsity season. It improves your grip, ball quickness, and most importantly ball security. Don't forget to include cardio into your routine.
