play the point, and work on your shot...be a passer first, and the shot will come..you will also succeed if you can rebound you own miss...speed is the key..the shot will follow..just look at MJ

What posistion should I play in basketball?you sound like a point guard because you are 5'8 and you are fast and agile which is what point guard does and once in a while you can drive to the lane and dish it out to open sharp shooter or give it to the center under the basket for an easy dunk. I do not know your age which you change things.
point guard... 5'8 is pretty small and most point guards are smaller guys
i am not sure how old you are or how old/tall your teammates are, but if you are the smallest you will end up playing point guard if you can not shoot that well
if you are the tallest in your group play center or power forward

learn to play them all. You never know how big you will end up. Ball handling skills and shooting will help at whatever position you end up at. Do not worry about the position the coach will put you where you can help the team the most. I was short so was a guard and grew over my junior year to become a forward.
id say SF possibly? or SG? too small to play a post position and Small Forwards tend to have better scoring abilities when driving the lane, also SGs have lots of opportunities to score from the lane as well, also id work on your jump shot
Definitely play Point Guard. You have to improve your handles though and passing ability and that way every time you get into the lane, since you can do it at will, you can dish it, or finish strong. Who the hell said PF?? What a moron. lol
Point Guard, as long as you can handle the ball well, and make your lay-ups when you get in the lane.
Small Forward
