If I get an unlocked Boost phone, use my Nextel sim, would I be able to use the international walkie-talkie?

I have a Nextel, but would like to get a Boost phone because they are slimmer. If I get an unlocked one, and put in my sim card, will I be able to use the international walkie-talkie like I do with Nextel?
