My cockateil "Mishka" is a normal grey cockateil 3 months old. ds'nt eat anything except seeds. What to do?

He is my 1st pet ever. I have tried giving apple, grapes, carrot, celery but he dosnt like anything. i tried jus leaving celery in his cage before goin to work, thinking if he wont have any seeds he will eat celery but he didn't even try it. I chopped it up for him but still he didn't have any. He does take a bite of rice when i eat my dinner.

He dosn't like to play with any toys but loves sitting on my chest if am lying on my bed or else loves sitting on my shoulder. Am a bit worried about his nutrition.

Is there any good cockateil training %26amp; caring program available in the market? I don't want to spend too much money though.

When trying to feed a bird new foods, just keep trying. Some times it's can take months before they will try something new. You just need to keep trying.



With my Grey it helps if she sees me eating, what I'm trying to get her to eat. And then there are things she just don't want to eat. She is scared of spoons and forks so I can't feed her off of one but she will at least go and look at what I have put into her bowl. She love Oranges and some types of apples and some types of pears, she can be very picky. But do to trial and error we have good sized list of fruits and veggies she will eat.



I also have a Cockatoo, most new things she will eat if they are fed to her off of a spoon. If we put it in her bowl she won't eat it or even try it. We also have a kabob like thing for birds that hang for the side of her cage and she will eat fruit and veggies off of that. There is no sharp points on this type and it's made just for birds. Some pet stores carry these, I think it was under $5.00.



I also have noticed I have been eating more good stuff instead of pizza and burgers, because they want to eat what your eating. We still have a pizza from time to time, while my Grey won't touch it our Cockatoo loves it. She also likes Cheeseburgers, just a little slice not a whole one. Just don't get carried away feeding them junk food, it's not real good for them or you but a little never hurts.

I have a Cockatiel.Cockatiel not eat any thing except Millet.You can give her Chickpea.First put Chickpea in water for 3 hours.After than you can give her.Cockatiel love to eat Chickpea.
