How long should I RUN for basketball?

I'm running/jogging tomorrow after school, to get my stamina up for basketball.. But how long should I run? I wanna get in better shape.. Is a mile good? How long should I RUN for basketball?
if your stamina is really bad, work to get to the point where your stamina is better and you can play a game. but running a long ways just at your own pace is totally the opposite of what basketball is. basketball is sprinting and stopping and constantly changing speeds. if you really want to get in shape for basketball, practice interval training. this is as simple as sprinting and then slowing to a jog and then sprinting and walking and then sprinting and so on. this is a lot harder than you might think but it will improve your stamina too and it is really all you do in basketball. Interval training is alot better for basketball than distance, because they are two totally different things.

Good luck. Remember, interval training!!!How long should I RUN for basketball?
Depends on your actual stamina right now I guess, you cant overdue it cause of health complications and also burn yourself out. But jogging/running is a daily routine. I started doing it over a year ago, mostly due to improve leg muscles and agility, I could run a mile in 6:30, but would be wiped afterward, so I started jogging for 30 minutes , aggressive run for 5 minutes and so on. Now I can stay playing for a great long duration. In my opinion 1 mile isnt good, but unless you also have to lose wight or something else then yea, you have to start at a good point for yourself, and weekly little by little increase your routine.
