How do you make a CD with only parts of songs on it like for a worm up CD for basketball?

I need to make a worm up cd for my basketball team and i need to know how to just but certain parts of songs on it. Like in the song "heart of the champion" by nelly, i want the middle, and thats it.How do you make a CD with only parts of songs on it like for a worm up CD for basketball?
here's something you might try.

play the c.d. on a machine that that has a cassette player and pause the c.d. at the start of the phrase you want, put the cassette on record then play the phrase you want to hear. as soon as the phrase is over put the c,d, on pause or stop, and stop the cassette from recording. do that with all the c.d. phrases you want to hear.

there is a columnist named kim komando who writes a computer tech. column in the newspapers. (it's syndicated)

she says you can then transfer that cassette music to your computer with the help of the right cable. you can then make a c.d. if you like. it will take some practice but i'm sure you will get it.
